The standard features that come with our
Firehouse kit differ somewhat from those that are included with our Victorian and Cape Cod
playhouses.
Our Firehouse kit includes 2 child’s fire engine doors for a total 40” x 40”
opening, a fire bell, fire engine #1 sign and firehouse USA sign.
All other items included as standard features in our kits (Firehouses come with
straight trim and no flowerboxes) are also included with the Firehouse.
The Firehouse is roughly 8' high and is available in three sizes: 8' x 8', 8' x
10' and 8' x 12'.
Floor System:
Floor has 2x4s with 5/8” plywood.
Loft is made of 2x4s with ½” OSB.

The
8' wide playhouses has 2" x 3" wall studs and 2" x 4" roof
joists
There is roughly a 4-5" overhang on all playhouses
To build your own floor, the size of the floor needs to be the exact
size of the playhouse. The walls are designed to go on a wooden deck, so the
siding extends below the wall framing by approx. 3" to cover the floor
framing. If you order the kit without a floor to place the kit on a concrete or
masonry floor, you'll need to add a couple of 2 x 4's under the wall plates or
cut off the extended siding.
We recommend a crushed stone base 1' wider on either side of the
playhouse
Decks are 3 feet deep by the width of the playhouse.
