Firehouse Cottage Playhouse

The standard features that come with our Firehouse kit differ somewhat from those that are included with our Victorian and Cape Cod playhouses. 
  

Our Firehouse kit includes 2 child’s fire engine doors for a total 40” x 40” opening, a fire bell, fire engine #1 sign and firehouse USA sign. All other items included as standard features in our kits (Firehouses come with straight trim and no flowerboxes) are also included with the Firehouse.

 

The Firehouse is roughly 8' high and is available in three sizes: 8' x 8', 8' x 10' and 8' x 12'. Click Here For Options & Accessories for the Firehouse Playhouse.

 

Standard Firehouse Kit Includes:

  • Pre-primed siding pre-fastened to wall panels

  • Straight pre-primed trim pre-fastened to panels

  • 1 working window with safety glass, grids and screens.

  • Shutters

  • Brass Fire Bell

  • Optional Floor Kit has 2x4s with 5/8” plywood

  • Firehouse engine doors each 40" H x 20" W for an overall opening of 40" x 40"

  • Loft is made of 2x4s with 1/2” OSB. 30" wide

  • Hardware needed to assemble (screws, latches, handles, nails, etc.)

  • Outside corner trim (white aluminum)

  • All trim and siding is pre-primed

You Provide:

Any additional items needed before assembling your playhouse can be purchased at any local home improvement store.

In addition to the standard features that come with our easy-to-assemble kits, options you can purchase for your playhouse include an inside loft, chimney, and extra windows, shutters and flower boxes.

  • The 8' wide playhouses has 2" x 3" wall studs and 2" x 4" roof joists

  • There is roughly a 4-5" overhang on all playhouses

  • To build your own floor, the size of the floor needs to be the exact size of the playhouse. The walls are designed to go on a wooden deck, so the siding extends below the wall framing by approx. 3" to cover the floor framing. If you order the kit without a floor to place the kit on a concrete or masonry floor, you'll need to add a couple of 2 x 4's under the wall plates or cut off the extended siding.

  • We recommend a crushed stone base 1' wider on either side of the playhouse

  • Decks are 3 feet deep by the width of the playhouse.
